ABOUT LINDA

Greetings and thank you for taking the time to peruse my web site.  I hope that you find the contained information interesting and relevant.  My career path has been diverse to say the least; however, I believe each change was a conscious choice that added value to the person I am today.  Please contact me if you would like more information.

Kind regards, Linda Skarrup

Linda Skarrup has been a professional in commercial and investment banking in addition to real estate sales and development. She is also a business owner who specializes in working with small businesses and individuals to assist them in discovering effective ways of developing new business and managing the inherent challenges of change.

Linda holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Communications with a minor in Humanities. However, her executive skills have been enhanced by her in-depth study and understanding of Eastern philosophies. She has been a practicing Buddhist for more than 20 years, having studied with His Holiness the Dalia Lama, as well as other teachers in that tradition. Also, she has held continuous certification in the Iyengar Yoga National Association of the United States since 1990—perhaps the most respected and sought-after designation in that field of work. She continues to update her studies with the Iyengars and their senior teachers in India and the United States.

In 1991, Linda participated in a program at Harvard Medical School created for doctors and other clinicians by Herbert Benson, M.D. This program was the culmination of a 10-year collaborative study between Dr. Benson and His Holiness the Dalia Lama, which provided valuable data concerning the metabolic effects and electroencephalographic changes that occur during Buddhist Meditation practices. This pilot program was conducted by the Department of Clinical Training in Behavioral Medicine.  It was a comprehensive study of the combined effects and results on chronic conditions using alternative, as well as, traditional methods of treatment.

More recently, Linda successfully completed the 700-hour professional training in Craniosacral Biodynamics and holds a diploma from the Karuna Institute in Devon, England. Dr. William Sutherland is the founder of Cranial Osteopathy. This therapy is done with gentle hands-on work in order to re-establish and balance the primary ordering principles and the vital force of the human being wherever it has been impeded by traumatic events, illness, or even embryological and genetic forces. This training is approved by the Colorado Department of Education.

Linda discovered early in her life that a traditional education and career path did not satisfy her needs to explore the world and learn about diversity. Her commitment is to a way of life that supports those imperatives and values and cultivates the courage and discipline required to embrace—and ultimately to help—others embrace change. Linda is currently co-authoring a book on her experiences and work.
