THE COMPLIMENTARY INTERFACE OF IYENGAR YOGA, BUDDHIST MEDITATION AND CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

Linda Skarrup, B.S. and Ray McCall, M.A.
January 31st 1:00pm MST – 5:30pm MST or
February 1, 2009 9:00am MST– 5:30pm MST

$195.00

The purpose of this workshop is to explore the complementary nature of Mindfulness Practice, Cranial Sacral Therapy and Yoga. We will do experiential exercises that bring us into the present, which promotes perceiving things as they are, not as we think they are. The neutral, wide perceptual field that is available when one is present is the ground for healing others and ourselves. Having a neutral, wide perceptual field allows one to perceive the inherent motion and rhythms that are always present in our bodies. We will provide a brief overview of the theory and practice of cranial sacral therapy and how it relates to health. An awareness of the body’s inherent motion can enrich and deepen ones practice of yoga. Whether working with ones self or others, knowledge of the complementary nature of mindfulness, inherent motion and yoga will bring a greater depth of experience and results. When practiced in concert, rather than separately, these disciplines enable and support the body to organize and heal itself.

Ray McCall is a Certified Advanced Rolfer with a private practice in Boulder and Denver, Colorado. A practitioner for more than 25 years, he teaches advanced Rolfing trainings worldwide. Mr. McCall holds a diploma in Cranial Sacral Therapy from the Karuna Institute of Devon, England and has completed the teacher-training program. He and Ms. Skarrup have collaborated and studied together for many years and feel the interconnection of these disciplines to be a powerful healing tool and path to awareness.

Linda Skarrup has been practicing and teaching yoga for over 30 years and is certified by the Iyengar Yoga National Association of the United States, one of the most sought after designations in that field of work. In addition, she also holds a diploma from the Karuna Institute of Devon, England and has expanded her studies to include Somatic Development Psychology and other related subjects. She specializes in the treatment of accidents and trauma. Ms. Skarrup studied with His Holiness the Dalia Lama and Dr. Herbert Benson, M.D. of Harvard Medical School, in a program addressing alternative medicine and Buddhist Meditation. Linda teaches workshops, leads retreats and has a private practice in Denver, Colorado. Ms. Skarrup and Mr. McCall have an ongoing interest in Buddhist Meditation and practice.

HEALTHY COMMUNITIES & ORGANIZATIONS THROUGH CONSCIOUS RELATIONSHIP RETREAT IN COSTA RICA

with Linda Skarrup
“EVERY RELATIONSHIP IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO AWAKEN”
THE BUDDHA
This conference is an opportunity to cultivate skillful ways of being in relationship with one another, whether it’s our families, our organizations and colleagues, or other group dynamics. Each and every one of us is a leader. We all have the capacity within us to be fearless warriors of truth, wisdom, and peaceful means.

In this experiential context, we will look at ways in which we can be more conscious of our thoughts and projections and use that awareness to work more skillfully with chaos, conflict and change. This is an opportunity to connect with others who share this vision.

The schedule allows time for gentle stretching and meditation, along with hiking and tours in the Rain Forest.
